Community
At Heartland Restaurant Group, the community is the heart of our business. We want the experience of warmth and caring to extend beyond our restaurants and into every community where we live and work.
Areas of Focus
Heartland Restaurant Group is proud to be a part of The Dunkin’ & Baskin-Robbins Community Foundation, which focuses support on three critical issue areas important to the neighborhoods we serve.
- Food for Our Hungry – Fulfilling critical hunger needs in our communities through partnerships with local food banks and hunger relief organizations
- Health for Our Children – Improving the health and wellness of children through partnerships with children’s hospitals and organizations that support research and treatment of children’s diseases and illnesses
- Safety for Our Neighborhoods – Ensuring the safety of our neighborhoods and communities through partnerships with organizations that support our firefighters, public safety officers, and troops at home and abroad
Who We Support
At the regional and local levels, we have donated more than $100,000 to local organizations serving our neighborhoods.
We are honored to support communities across southwestern Pennsylvania through a variety of efforts. Over the recent years, we have helped more than dozens of community partners fulfill their mission of helping others and in 2014, we were rewarded 1st runner-up in the United States as the Dunkin’ Donuts Philanthropist of the Year.
The Best of the Batch Foundation
We donated $2 from the sale of each 2lb. bundle of Dunkin’ Donuts whole bean or ground packaged coffee to support the Best of the Batch Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by Homestead, PA-native and Pittsburgh Steelers Quarterback Charlie Batch in 1999 to improve the lives of underprivileged youth in distressed communities across the region through after-school programs, scholarships, playground restoration, and sports and leisure activities.
The Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation
The Pittsburgh Penguins teamed up with partners ATI, Dunkin’ Donuts and First Niagara Bank to raise more than $100,000 for the “Support Our Heroes” campaign, benefitting military veterans programs. Initiatives included an auction of the Penguins’ camouflage warm-up jerseys; a Penguins’ branded “Support Our Heroes” employee cup promotion; and donations made by fans at Dunkin’ Donuts and First Niagara Bank branches throughout western Pennsylvania.
Magee-Womens Research Institute and Foundation
Renowned for its care towards woman and becoming a global leader in reproductive sciences that promotes health for women and their communities. In 2015, Dunkin’ Donuts’ locations across southwestern Pennsylvania sold a 2lb. bundle of Dunkin’ Donuts whole bean or ground packaged coffee to support the Magee-Womens Research and the Premature Birth clinic, with the help of DD customers, we helped the fight against premature births.
